Pensacola Campus is Open!

Update: 05/20/2020

Sunday Service Time

  • Doors Open: 8:30 am CST
  • Doors Close for Broadcast: 9:05 am CST

Hello Upward Pensacola Family!

We wanted to reach out by email and let you all know that, beginning this Sunday, May 24th, we will be doing a “Slow Re-opening” of the Pensacola Campus.  It won’t quite be our traditional service – instead, it will be more of a Studio Audience experience.  With our Online Church focus, we are now broadcasting weekly to well over 2,000 people.  The main sanctuary will be open for this Sunday’s broadcast, and we’re making provision for 50% to be able to experience the service broadcast in person.

To keep us all safe, and to protect those who are most vulnerable among us, we are offering a “Touch-less Service”.  We are:

  • Limiting participation to 50%
  • We will be practicing social distancing for seating
  • We will not be handing out or collecting any paper items like connect cards or offering envelopes.
  • Coffee Bar will be closed in this stage of the re-opening.
  • At this time Upward Kids will not be available

Please prayerfully consider whether God would have you attend in person; we do not want anyone to feel pressed to attend if they are not comfortable doing so.  Our team is working hard each week to create an excellent Online Church experience, and we hope that you will continue being a part of that until we have a clear path forward with fully opening our campuses.  However, we do know that many of you want to be physically in the church building, so we wanted to offer this touch-less approach as an alternative.  Thanks for your faithfulness, your perseverance, and your generosity in keeping Upward thriving.

Easter!

Online Service Time + Upward Kids!

Update: 03/17/2020

Online Service Time

8:30 AM CST: Upward Kids

9:00 AM CST: Worship Service

Praise God for a successful Online experience this past Sunday! God has been preparing Upward for this challenge for the past several years, and we were able to step right into our new paradigm seamlessly! And our team is amazing!! We truly are making the transition to becoming an Online Church with physical locations - and we will likely be 100% Online for the foreseeable future.

On Sunday mornings we will continue to bring you a timely message and a powerful online worship experience, live from Upward Church! Here’s our new format: we will move to one single service, kicking off each week with a special Kids Church feature, so the whole family can participate. We will transition into the main service immediately after Kids Church. The livestream will begin at 9:30 EDT (8:30 CDT). So please don’t miss this opportunity to engage with us as we seek to grow together in our faith, despite the disruption and chaos in the world around us.

As you can see from watching the daily news, it’s impossible to predict the full impact of this pandemic – the picture changes daily! But I believe it’s clearly a watershed moment in America, and will likely mark a significant change in how we “do church” in our country, and around the world. This Sunday I will share more exciting news about what we are doing with our Life Groups, to keep us all engaged and in fellowship with each other as we go through these rough waters. Don’t be fearful, and don’t do life alone!

I’m repeating this from our last update, but these items are criticalplease continue to:

· PRAY for healing for those who have been impacted and afflicted directly by Coronavirus. Pray that God would stop the spread of the virus, and protect those who are weak and most vulnerable to it. Pray that this crisis would be an open door for Upward Church to share the love of Jesus to many throughout our communities;

· CHECK ON the well-being of family, friends or neighbors who are most at risk, particularly those who are over the age of 60 or have lowered immunity due to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or upper respiratory problems;

· GET READY to be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities as God shows you opportunities to help meet the needs of those who are impacted around you; and

· GIVE wholeheartedly and sacrificially of your time, talent, and treasure. Your giving is extremely crucial in order for Upward to maintain its regular ministries, missions, and operations. We encourage you to Give Online; it’s safe and secure!

Thank you once again for your faithfulness and continued support of Upward Church. Please look for ongoing updates on our website and social media pages. We look forward to worshiping with you this weekend at Church Online!

COVID-19 UPDATE

COVID-19 NOTICE & UPDATE

Update: 03/13/2020

Upward Church Family,

I want to begin by letting you know that I thank God daily for the privilege of leading you, our church family, during both the good and the challenging times we experience together. Even though the COVID-19/Coronavirus has recently disrupted our world, our nation, and our daily lives, we can fearlessly stand on the hope of Jesus Christ, and the promises God’s Word provides. Prepare to be encouraged this weekend as we bring to you a timely message and powerful online worship experience, live from Upward Church!

God has prepared Upward very well for this challenge. Over a year ago, during a fast, the Lord directed me to change our paradigm from a church with an online presence, to calling ourselves and operating as an Online Church with physical locations. For over a year, God has prepared us for this moment in time. This Sunday, I will team up with our amazing worship team to livestream our service from our Pensacola Campus. God has placed a timely message on my heart that I can’t wait to share with each of you!

In an effort to be wise and to protect the most vulnerable among us, we will not be meeting in our physical Campuses this weekend. This decision is based on wisdom, and not driven by fear. We will always put your best interests first, and are here to serve you, not ourselves. The next two weeks are critical for our nation; the effort to "flatten the curve" of this virus keeps our medical facilities and amazing medical personnel from being overrun. We will still be gathering for a powerful service of hope at two Church Online live services this Sunday. Please make plans to join us for Church Online at one of the following services for live chat and prayer

Online Service Times

CST: 9:00 & 11:00 am

EST: 10:00 am & 12:00 pm

As an added feature to this weekend's online experience, our Campus Pastors will be participating in the live chat, and engaging directly with you in discussion and prayer. We encourage you to join a Life Group as we will be implementing more Online Life Groups, to facilitate community under the current circumstances. Please update your contact information using our electronic Connect Card, and let us know what campus you normally attend. Also please download our app, join our Facebook page, and join the chat on Sunday so that we can stay well connected. As we have said from the beginning, "Don't do life alone." We will get through this much better by navigating it together.

Over the coming days, we are committed to monitoring the Coronavirus situation very closely. We will be providing updates on our website, and sending emails and push notifications, about any changes to future service times. As we walk through this challenging period, we encourage you to:

· PRAY for healing for those who have been impacted and afflicted directly by Coronavirus. Pray that God would stop the spread of the virus, and protect those who are weak and most vulnerable to it. Pray that this crisis would be an open door for Upward Church to share the love of Jesus to many throughout our community and world;

· CHECK ON the well-being of family, friends or neighbors who are most at risk, particularly those who are over the age of 60 or have lowered immunity due to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or upper respiratory problems;

· GET READY to be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities as God shows you opportunities to help meet the needs of those who are impacted around you; and

· GIVE wholeheartedly and sacrificially of your time, talent, and treasure during this time. Your giving is crucial in order for Upward to maintain its regular ministries, missions, and operations. We encourage you to Give Online.

Thank you for your faithfulness, your dedicated service, your continued support of Upward Church, and for standing ready to minister to others during these challenging times. We love you so much, and are praying for God to place a hedge of protection around you and your family, so we will each be in a position to be a light to those around us who are fearful and dismayed. We look forward to worshiping with you this weekend at Church Online!

In His Love & Provision,

Pastor Craig
