Introduction

Obviously, this Easter looks very different than any other for all of us. We have all suffered a loss to varying degrees during this time. Loss of seeing our friends, favorite restaurants, jobs, sports, and some have even suffered the heartbreaking loss of their loved ones. We must acknowledge our emotions, but we don’t let them dominate our thoughts, or lead us in our decision-making. We are emotional beings by God’s design, we don’t need to deny them. True faith is not a denial of the facts or our emotions. We can examine the facts and our emotions with our faith intact.

Discussion Questions

1. What are some current emotions you are experiencing during this time of quarantine and Easter weekend?

2. What effect does the resurrection have on you today? What difference does it make in your relationships? in your work? in your recreation?

3. In the message, Pastor Craig discussed the events of John 20:1-7. What do these verses reveal about the relationship Jesus had with His followers? What do they reveal about the emotional state of Jesus’ disciples after His death?

4. Mary thought Jesus’ body had been taken. Should they have known that Jesus would rise from the tomb? How?

5. How often do you think about God’s restoration of all things? What do you think would change in your life if you thought about it more often?

6.What is our responsibility in light of this promise? How specifically does knowing this day is coming increase our urgency to bring hope to the world?

Moving Forward

Jesus has risen and He is coming back! That fact changes everything for those who will receive Him and serve Him! Hope springs a new! There is a new dawn coming! When you see all these things come to pass, look up for your redemption is near!

Changing Your Mind

And he said to them,  “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.”
