Testify!

Your Story & God's Truth

Often, the story we tell ourselves does not line up with God’s truth. Join us this weekend as we align our story with His truth!

How does sharing your testimony glorify God? For the next three weeks we take a dive into how your story can change and point others towards Jesus Christ.

Key Scriptures

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • Who do you think will NOT make it into heaven?

Start thinking. Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • Which part of the message was most impactful for you and why?
  • Why do you think people make excuses about severity of sins?
  • PC made the point about use and abuse of alcohol, when does the use of alcohol become abuse of alcohol?

Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.

  • PC said that “Even the worst sinners can be saved” do you believe that a murderer, a thief, a homosexual, and an adulterer equally deserve saving?
  • What are some of the sins that PC mentioned in his message?
  • Why do we get offended so easily when pastors preach about sin?
  • What do we need to do to be saved?

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

Father God give me the wisdom and understanding of your truth, cleanse me of any corrupted thoughts Lord. Fill me with boldness to speak to people about Heaven and the steps we need to take to be with You. Jesus, you came as our Savior and died on the cross for our sins, help us to find the right words to soften hardened hearts, so they can feel the love and peace that you provide and change their ways. Heavenly Father we thank you for your Words and Instructions, use us to reach those that are weary and in trouble to further your Kingdom. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • This week I’m not going to engage in slander (gossip)
  • I will pay more attention to the truth of the bible and what it teaches about sin (sins that we believe are innocent because it’s morally accepted by society)
